Indicative Pricing

If you’re thinking of commissioning a WordPress web site or blog…or both, regardless of whether it is a partial or full Ecommerce site, then the amount of work you will want your web company to do on your behalf is likely to vary depending on your degree of competence and comfort in using WordPress software.

Regardless of expertise, you may also want to consider whether mastering the intricacies of WordPress software is the best use of your time when you have a business to run!

Unlike some companies, we don’t offer standard pricing packages as, in our experience, client requirements aren’t standard.

Rather, we offer a minimum ‘core’ service that we believe the great majority of clients will require along with a menu of additional services you can select from dependent on your specific requirements.

So. if you want a complete service, from domain name registration and hosting, through content creation to ongoing site management, that’s great.

Or, if you just require a site design with added plugin functionality that you will take on to completion and beyond, that’s great too!

Core Service

We will:

install WordPress
configure WordPress
complete a draft ‘theme’ design for your site on our hosting (and transfer to yours, when approved)
install a range of plugins that we believe will greatly increase the efficiency and effectiveness of your site:
- 2 alternative WYSIWYG content editors (the choice will be yours)
- search engine optimisation (to maximise search engine rankings and referrals)
- contact forms (for the easy creation of online forms for site visitors as required)
- Lightbox (for the effective presentation of graphics)
- Google Analytics (for web site monitoring and analysis)
- social media (for easy distribution of your content)
- sitemap generator (for automatic creation and updating of a sitemap page within your site, including posts and pages)
- and, of course, most importantly, plugins that will drive the Ecommerce functionality you require

Obviously, whether you choose to use all of these plugins is your decision.

Ecommerce Elements

Configuring Ecommerce functionality (including e.g. setting up product categories, online payment integration, shipping tariffs, etc.)		£100

Loading products (including product images, descriptions and pricing, product variations, etc.) Important: It is assumed that the client will supply all required product images.		£4 per product


Training/Support

Training/support in WordPress site management (by phone/e-mail) (For those new to WordPress we would suggest a minimum of 5 hours support will be required)		£20 per hour

Examples of total cost?

Let’s take two scenarios for illustrative purposes.

Scenario 1 – A client who is comfortable using WordPress and who has a domain name and appropriate hosting in place.

For installation and configuration of WordPress, design and a range of plugin functionality, including of course the software required to provide Ecommerce functionality.

Total cost = £350

Scenario 2 – A client who is new to WordPress and who doesn’t have a domain name or appropriate hosting in place.

Payment Terms

Our design payment terms are normally:

an initial payment on commissioning
a further stage payment on agreement of site design
a final payment on the design being implemented on your domain

For any training/support element, payment will be requested in advance.
