Content
Management
This is a growing
area on the Net as clients seek control over
their own on-line property and to minimise
ongoing maintenance costs.
Itsnoprob offers two forms of content
management, again depending on the individual
client's requirements.
1. Macromedia Contribute
This software,
installed on the client's computer, is best used
where maintenance is envisaged across many
elements of pages or across several sections of
a web site.
It allows for the
updating/addition of site content by staff with
little or no web design knowledge, while
safeguarding more complicated or sensitive
elements from corruption
2. Area-specific Content Management
This approach is
best adopted where the client requires to
regularly maintain only a single specific area
of a site (say, a Latest News or New
Developments section)
Usually, the
solution to this will be the installation of
content management software on the web site
server that allows the client to easily update
content (text and/or graphics) via their
Internet browser.
To see an example of this in action visit the
Fircroft College of
Adult Education web site. Their Latest
News section is 'driven' by content management
software that allows non-technical staff to post
articles to the site.
