How do I update my WordPress site? |
WordPress is designed for ease of use . That's why it's the choice of millions of bloggers around the world, whose focus is on publishing content quickly and easily without having to learn the intricacies of web design.
Your WordPress site is managed by an online Control Panel, available to you wherever you have an Internet connection.
The Editors available for WordPress are very simple to use. If you want to build a web site like Amazon then WordPress isn't the system for you. But if you want a straightforward way to publish online content then it certainly merits your active consideration.
Editors can typically be used in 'Visual' mode – effectively as a wordprocessor – or, if you have some knowledge of HTML, HTML coding can be entered as required.
Images can easily be uploaded and inserted into pages and blog postings as required.

What level of computer skills are required for effective management of a WordPress site? |
WordPress software was originally designed specifically for bloggers rather than as a web design tool, so advanced computer skills are certainly not required to get presentable results. If they were, WordPress would not be used by millions of users around the globe.
As with any software, though, there is a learning curve and practice and patience will be required initially.
Some knowledge of HTML is useful, although not essential, as it will allow the fine tuning of both the positioning and appearance of your web page contents.

How are images uploaded and inserted into WordPress pages or posts? |
Images can be uploaded directly to the Media section of your online Control Panel, resized, if required, given a caption and mouseoever text and alignment defined.
It’s best if if your images are roughly the right width and height before uploading to your WordPress site as this will minimise the time it takes for them to be presented to your site visitors as well as making best use of your server space. But, with the widespread adoption of broadband, this is a far less critical issue than formerly.
