If you click on the screenshots of the themes that will appear below, you can see how the home page of this blog looks when presented in the selected theme.

Previews of a single page, can give you an idea of how you might like your blog to appear from a design point of view, but we are aware both that:

• your content may well be very different

and

• design (visual presentation) is only one of two primary considerations when planning your blog project – the other being functionality (what your blog can do)

Showcase Theme 1

This theme features a two-column layout with widgets presented in the left-hand column (sidebar).

The sidebar also includes a vertical menu that links to the post categories within the blog. The number of categories in our blog is limited at the moment, but this menu can accommodate further categories – and sub-categories as drop-down options – as our blog expands.

The vertical menu, though, could just as easily have been set up to link to blog pages rather than categories. The choice is ours.
